On 25 June 2026, DG CONNECT, DG COMP and DG ENEST, hosted representatives from partner countries in the framework of a Technical Assistance and Information Exchange (TAIEX) workshop to present the ongoing work in relation to the Digital Markets Act (DMA) and support the accession process in the area of digital platforms regulation.
This event built upon an initial TAIEX multi-country workshop, held in February 2025.
The Commission’s services met representatives from Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, Türkiye and Ukraine in Brussels. The discussion focused on the activities carried out in the EU under the DMA and discussed with them the state of play of the accession process in this area.
The Commission illustrated how the DMA has started delivering results, opening up new opportunities for businesses and developers, and giving users more control over their experiences and devices, as well as access to more diverse and innovative digital products and services.
Candidate and partner countries welcomed the presentations and expressed their support for achieving the ambitious objectives of fairness and contestability set out in the DMA. The discussion was highly engaging and insightful.
The TAIEX workshop provided not only a detailed overview of the DMA’s impact and the support needed to ensure the partner countries’ operational preparedness from the first day of accession, but also reflected the collaborative spirit required for successful implementation and for strengthening institutional capacity.
